WITHIN YOUR TEAM

As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for creating samples for specific customer applications. Your primary focus will be to create quality samples under realistic production environment conditions, making a recommendation of the best suited system under consideration of the customer’s budget for the machine type and configuration. performance results.

Location: This is an on-site role based in Wood Dale, IL (4-5x per week) with occasional travel to customer sites for pre- or post-order meetings and application setup visits (appr. 10-20%)

THIS JOB IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO:

In this role you will grow your knowledge and skills while supporting users in their day-to-day activities. You will learn new technologies and create standard work to help associates use those new technologies. Your attention to details will help you expand your knowledge and resolve support requests in a timely manner.

WITHIN YOUR ROLE, YOU WILL:

• As part of the application team, testing customer samples and materials for their reaction to laser light using different laser systems and analysis methods (measuring, evaluation and camera systems).
• Independent simulation of customer applications in the application laboratory and development of marking solutions according to customer requirements, definition of optimum workflow
• Determining the optimal product and its configuration for defined customer applications
• Processing and optimization of graphic files in different formats
• Technical support of customers, sales and service
• Internal and external documentation, explanation and communication of application results
• Performing Factory Acceptance Tests, alone or as part of a team with customer, project planning, service and sales
• Presentation of laser markers to customers and at trade fairs
• Collaboration in development projects

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PROFESSIONAL WHO IS:

YOUR EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:

• High School degree/GED; Bachelor’s degree in engineering, laser application, material science or related field preferred, deep understanding of vision technologies and CAD based and design software solutions
• Solid understanding of production processes, technologies, and solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and test results, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to travel globally when needed (10% - 20%).
